Frank Lampard would excite fans and be ‘very glamorous date’ for Norwich City, reporter says Stuart hodge.
The Canaries are on the hunt for a new boss as Daniel Farke was sacked just hours after claiming a win over Brentford on Saturday.
What’s the latest news about Lampard?
Norwich parted ways with Farke shortly after the German guided the newly promoted squad to their first Premier League win of the season.
With the Canaries currently at the bottom of the table, sporting director Stuart Webber said “the time has come for a change to give us the best opportunity to retain our Premier League status”.
Webber is leading Norwich’s search for Farke’s successor after agreeing to sign a new contract following talks with club owners Delia Smith and Michael Wynn Jones.
Lampard, Dean Smith and Ralph Hasenhuttl are on a list of three candidates compiled by Webber.
It emerged that Lampard had previously held talks with the Canaries to deal with moving the Norfolk club away from the relegation zone.
What did Stuart Hodge say about Lampard?
Hodge believes Lampard’s appointment would bring a feel-good factor to Carrow Road after a disappointing start to life in the Premier League.
Norwich fans have had little to celebrate since Farke led the club to their second league title in three seasons, ensuring an immediate return to the top flight.
But Hodge believes the Canary Islands hierarchy would be supported by the Norwich loyalists if Lampard were given the reins.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “Frank Lampard would obviously be a very glamorous meeting.

“I think it would have the kind of razzmatazz that a lot of people would turn on.”
Why is Lampard one of the Norwich targets?
Lampard has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in January, so Norwich would not have to part with compensation to acquire the 43-year-old’s services.
He has enjoyed a brilliant playing career, winning the Premier League three times and also getting his hands on the Champions League.
Lampard, who won 106 England caps during his international career, has succeeded at the highest level thanks to his reign at Chelsea.
Already a legend at the Stamford Bridge club before hanging up, Lampard managed Chelsea 84 times and had 44 wins along the way.
This challenge came after he had cut his teeth in County Derby, where he had 26 wins in 57 games.
