Image Awards winners, free dental care on June 11

• The Central West Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association recognized the region’s best work in public relations, marketing and communications at its 2022 Image Awards: Modern PR event on April 28.

The local Image Awards competition is held annually to recognize outstanding public relations programs and to encourage and promote the development of the public relations profession.

The competition rewards work in three divisions: PR Programs, PR Guarantee, and Digital PR Tools.

The awards were presented by Chapter President, Melanie Reda, and Image Awards Director, Laitin Sterling, and were sponsored by Premier Sotheby’s International Realty and Next brand.

North Port Parks & Recreation’s Warm Mineral Springs Park “Experience Vintage Florida” campaign won the Grand All Image Award and the Barancik Foundation’s annual “2021 Year in Review” won a Grand Image Award.

The image awards were: City of North Port’s Water Safety Campaign and Warm Mineral Springs Park’s Experience Vintage Florida Campaign; and the Barancik Foundation’s “2021 Year in Review” annual report.

Winning awards of distinction were: KSC, Inc. and the Sarasota Orchestra’s 2022 Sarasota Music Festival “Comradeship Recruitment Campaign”; WordSlinger Marketing and PR and Safe Children Coalition’s “Adult Adoption Story”; and Hamlet’s Eatery’s “To Meat or Not to Meat” public engagement campaign.

The judges’ awards for ROI were: North Port Parks & Recreation’s Warm Mineral Springs “Experience Vintage Florida” campaign; KSC, Inc. and Sarasota Orchestra’s 2022 Sarasota Music Festival “Fellowship Recruitment Campaign”; the Barancik Foundation’s annual report “2021 Year in Review”; and WordSlinger Marketing & PR and “Adult Adoption Story” from the Safe Children Coalition.

Hunter Carpenter, Public Relations Manager at First monitoring restaurants, was named the chapter’s 2022 Joe Curley Rising Leader. Carpenter serves on the CWC-FPRA Board of Directors as co-director of events, planning and securing speakers for the chapter’s professional development events. The award identifies and honors an individual member of the FPRA who demonstrates leadership as well as active and dedicated involvement in chapter activities, programs, functions and events.

• June 11, Aspen Dental nationwide locations will open to provide free care to military veterans across the country.

Now in its eighth year, Day of Service provides free, much-needed dental care to veterans to honor their service and break down barriers to health care.

Free care will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Prior appointments are required.
