EXETER – Core Pediatric Dentistry will once again be hosting a Give Kids A Smile event on Saturday February 19.
The event will take place from 9am to 12.30pm, at their office at 5 Hampton Road, Exeter. The goal is to provide underserved children with free dental services. Children ages 1-14 can be brought in by a parent or guardian without an appointment for free dental checkups and cleanings.
“Our dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants and administrative staff all dedicate their time to this program because we want to help local children who might not otherwise have the opportunity to see a dentist,” said Jennifer Creem, of Core Pediatric Dentistry. “Dental care is vitally important to a child’s overall health.”
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than one in five children between the ages of 2 and 5 have at least one cavity in their primary teeth, and children from low-income families are more than twice more likely to have untreated cavities. . The American Dental Association launched the Give Kids A Smile program in 2003 to enable dentists nationwide to provide dental services to underserved children.
