Bihar man arrested for staging fake date racket in town

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The criminal branch has arrested a 28-year-old man from Bihar who owns seven institutions for deceiving people in the name of giving jobs in the city, the official said on Monday.

According to reports, the accused gave the fake date letter to more than 400 people for Rs 4 lakh to 5 lakh per person.

Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Shailendra Singh Chouhan told Free Press that police received a tip which claimed a hostel manager was running a fake dating letter distribution racket.

Following the whistleblowing, the police arrested the accused Ashu Kumar on May 20 at the Pandey Boys’ Hostel located in the Kotra district of Sultanabad in the city. Ashu, a resident of Bihar is a graduate in Computer Science.

The police registered the case under IPC Section 420 467 468 471 and started investigations into the case.

During the search operation at the hostel, the police found a large number of letterheads from the government medical school in Datia and a list with the names of more than 400 people.

The documents that were confiscated contain the details of the letter of appointment, letters of interview, certificate of appointment, identity cards of 32 positions in which the seal and signature of the dean were present.

The police also seized two registers, two computers and several documents on the spot.

Nevertheless, the police suspected that people from the medical school and others were involved in the racketeering. The police would take action against them shortly.

Selection and appointment letters given on 32 positions include, Senior Clerk, Lower Grade Clerk, Peon, Peon (Contract), Pharmacist, Nurse, Static Office Assistant, Static Officer, Computer Operator, Chauffeur, Chauffeur (Contract ), emergency physician, librarian, lab assistant, lab technician, health inspector, technical assistant, medical social worker, nurse, dental technician, receptionist, ECG technician, receptionist, MRO, deputy registrar , physiotherapist, OT technician, dissection room assistant, etc.

Police also became aware of properties belonging to the accused including Singh Restoration, Pandey Boys Hostel, Singh Education and Welfare Society, Singh Construction, Anmol Raag (Hindi Magazine) and Businesses Singh.
