Halifax-based owner VIDA Living will offer its tenants health and dental insurance.
In what it calls the first such offering in the country, VIDA has launched a partnership with HUB International to provide dental care, virtual health care, virtual pharmacy, life insurance, vision care and tenant mental health and prescription coverage.
“We don’t know of any other housing company doing this,” VIDA founder Ron Lovett said in a statement. “The pandemic has left many of our residents physically and mentally exhausted, and some without access to affordable health insurance coverage. Insurance coverage will be available to VIDA tenants across Canada. VIDA seeks to partner with other businesses to provide its tenants with benefits such as discounts on products or services and priority access to job postings.
